A new creative outlet
About KVTN Design
This all started in a few places. 1: My partner convinced me to try a lino-cut Valentine's Day event a few years ago, and I ended up loving designing stamps!
2: I bought an iPad to make drawing a quick, accessible and less scary proposition, and it worked. I love picking it up and doodling.
3: I shaved my head out of laziness and I wanted to finally see what this bare noggin looks like (it's trending towards balding anyways). And, out of an interest in not looking like a neo-Nazi, I thought I'd soften my look with an earring. And of course, why not make them myself?
And so, KVTN Design is born!
The Earrings
My earrings are primarily lino-cut designs, all made by me, printed by hand onto cardstock, which I seal and assemble into earrings using sterling silver ear hooks and various beads, almost all made of natural material.
I'm currently working mostly with an animal theme, but I'm constantly working on new designs.
The Shirts
These are also lino-cut designs, made by hand by me. I use permanent ink to stamp them onto thrifted t-shirts of various sizes and colours. I'm currently working on a Birds and Blades theme, inspired by a particularly naughty crow of some renown.
The idea is to make tranquil bird scenes inspired by the West Coast, with a semi-subtle hint of something sinister (the blades).
I currently have one design (Criminal Crow), but am working on a Heretic Heron design. So keep your eyes peeled for that!
